Google AdWords is a very effective channel to market a product or service. You will list your ads on Google and only pay when someone clicks on your ads. To list your ads on Google, you need to bid on keywords that are related to your business.

For some keywords, the cost per click is not cheap. This is the reason why some marketers shy away from advertising on Google. But, there are solutions to this. With effective Google AdWords management, you can reduce the cost of your AdWords campaign without getting lesser clicks. The question is: how do you do it?

First of all, you must understand that Google AdWords values a lot on relevancy. By increasing the relevancy of your campaign, AdWords will award you with a Great Quality Score. With this, you will pay lesser per click than your competitors. This means that with the same budget, you can now stretch your advertising dollars and achieve more clicks in return.

To get a great quality score for your AdWords campaign, there are 4 important things that you must do:

1. Bid on relevant keywords. Do not use keywords that are generic and irrelevant to your business. People that are typing these keywords are usually not very targeted and therefore will not be interested in what you are offering. In this case, you will get a lot of impressions but little clicks. This will affect the CTR of your campaign and your quality score.

2. Increase the CTR (Click-Through-Rate) of your campaign. With higher CTR, you are telling Google that your campaign is relevant to what people are searching for. With this, Google will award you with better quality scores. One tip to increase CTR is to write compelling ad texts. Also, always split test your ad texts so as to achieve the best possible CTR for each ad group.

3. Group your keywords into relevant ad groups. Organizing keywords into the right ad groups can really help you to achieve better quality score and CTR. For example, if you offer air conditioning services, keywords like air conditioning servicing and air conditioning repair should be in separate ad groups. Although the meaning of these keywords are similar, it is best to separate them into different ad groups so as to achieve higher quality score and CTR.

4. Use relevant landing pages. Point your ad text to relevant landing pages. Do not point all ad texts to the home page. If need be, create unique landing pages for specific keywords to increase relevancy.

By following these tips, you can achieve higher quality score and CTR for your AdWords campaign. With great quality score, the cost per click will get lesser and your budget will get you more clicks.

Google and its partner sites provide you with an excellent business offer called Google AdWords which advertises your products on their sites. You have to choose a phrase or a keyword that are relevant to your business or product while advertising with the service. These keywords are used to create advertisements that help to attract the targeted customers towards your product while the potential customers are browsing for your products online.

The actual mechanism involved here is that when the customers search for products using your keyword, your ads would also appear above searches as sponsored links. Thus your website is now at reach of your targeted customers. Since many struggle to get targeted traffic to their sites, Google AdWords is a best mechanism to get high traffic flow.

Your ads are not mingled up with the usual search results and the customers are not confused. You can also make constraints on the location and language of your ads to influence the correct audience lists. Google also provides another option of providing your ads on the other relevant sites of your product and also on the partner sites of Google.

Google AdWords is really flexible with cost and allows you to choose your own budget. You pay only for the number of clicks that people make on your ads and thus cost-effective. Since there are no contracts or agreements, you can start or stop this service at any moment. You are the one who is going to decide the pay for the clicks on your ads.

Google is the most popular search engine in the world and its pay per click platform (Google AdWords) can be considered the best too. Today, only Yahoo’s sponsored search marketing platform comes close to Google AdWords.

If you want to drive lots of traffic to your website, you must master Google AdWords. It is a little different from some of the other pay per click platforms. If you do not know how to use it properly, it can sometimes cause you a bomb in advertising cost with mediocre results.

Now, let me share with you 7 tips to run a successful Google AdWords campaign:

1. If you are new to Google AdWords, turn off Content Targeting first. I will recommend you to start with the search network and exclude content targeting at the beginning. This is because if you are not familiar with content targeting, you are going to spend lots of money on it and get mediocre results.

2. Set a daily budget and maximum cost-per-click (CPC) for keywords. A daily budget will ensure that you will not overspend. So determine how much money you want to spend on Google AdWords. Then divide the amount by 30 days. Also, you can set the maximum cost per click for each keyword. The maximum CPC allows you to determine the highest amount that you will bid for a particular keyword.

3. Bid on the right keywords. If you bid on irrelevant keywords, the cost-per-click of each keyword will be higher and you are going to pay more for the campaign. Therefore, always conduct a thorough keyword research to make sure that you have a set of keywords that is related to what you are offering on your website.

4. Place keywords in the right ad groups. If you place all the keywords in one ad group, it is very hard for you to write targeted ads. When your ads are not targeted, there will be lesser people clicking on them. This will decrease your CTR and cause you to pay more for each click.

5. Do split testing by running 2 ads at a time. Always run 2 ads at a time to make sure that you keep increasing the CTR of your ads. With higher CTR, you will pay lesser per click.

6. Place keywords in the title and description of your ads. Placing keywords in the title and description of your ads will greatly improve your CTR, which translates to lower cost per click. But this is only possible if you place related keywords in separate ad groups.

7. Use negative keywords. If you think of any keyword that may cause your ads to show but is not related to your campaign, be sure to place it as negative keywords. You may think that Google AdWords is a pay per click model. Even if the negative keywords trigger your ads, as long as searchers do not click on it, you do not need to pay. Although this is true, but indirectly, you are going to pay more. This is because when these negative keywords trigger your ads, the total impressions of your campaign increase. And because these keywords are not related to the campaign, there will be little clicks coming from them. This means that you will have a very poor quality score and low CTR.

Poor quality score + low CTR = expensive cost-per-click.

And do not forget to track campaign performance. You can use Google Analytics to track traffic, conversions and ROI.

Google AdWords is a way to advertise your business online. It is one of the easiest ways to make money based off of simple keywords. Based on those keywords, your ads will be placed all over the internet where they fit with the article, post or whatever other content. When people click on your ad, then you get paid. The way this works is that when people search for one of your selected keywords, then your ads that contain that keyword will show up on the sidebar of the search. This allows you to advertise to people that are already interested! This also means that you won’t have to worry so much about promoting your ads because it’s already being done because of your keyword selection. You only pay when someone clicks on your ads, therefore, no matter what your budget is, you can get started advertising with Google AdWords now.

Obviously, you will want to choose keywords relevant to the topic at hand. Many people think that if they choose a popular keyword, whether it has anything to do with your company that it will generate you more business. This is a half truth. Although you will end up generating more business in the fact that more people will be visiting you creating a higher traffic, they won’t be buying things. This means that you are misleading people and causing yourself to pay for services clicks while you aren’t bringing in any more. Therefore, by trying this tactic, you are actually costing yourself money.

There is not a minimum monthly charge to use Google AdWords because Google knows that sometimes business is good and sometimes it’s not and they want you to profit in those bad times even if it is only a little. There is a regular activation fee to get your account started and then a small fee each time your ads are clicked on. It makes it simple and easy to use. Even for those that are not advertising whizzes, which most of us aren’t.

This is an ideal way to start putting your business out there; especially if you are a smaller business and you know that funds are limited until you start making some good money. We all know how difficult that can be without advertising, however. It’s a catch twenty-two that there is no way around, a vicious cycle that can really make or break us depending on how equipped your business plan is and what your backup plan is if you have one.

Most people feel that Google AdWords is the easiest way to start advertising your business for the lowest cost. It is easy to use and the turn around is quick because you are posting ads everywhere on the internet that one of your keywords shows up. This makes it all the more easy to sell yourself without going through the length and time consuming process of writing pages and pages of copy for your website. Most anyone can use it because it was designed with the common person in mind, not the corporate advertising whiz.

One of the most reassuring features of the Google AdWords pay-per-click advertising program is the ability to set a daily budget for each of your campaigns. It’s obviously an essential safety valve, but most new users are usually unaware that setting the budget too low can be the quickest way to doom a campaign to a slow agonizing death.

When you create a new AdWords campaign, Google will recommend a budget designed to maximise ad exposure, based on the current keyword bids. But regardless of this recommendation, new advertisers tend to set very conservative budget, because they’re worried about running up a large bill.

Be aware however that if you set a budget that is less than the recommended amount, Google will restrict the number of times your ad is displayed. If you choose to make your daily budget $25 when Google recommends $50 for example, your ad will only be shown 50% of the time your ad is eligible for display.

They do this to spread your ad exposure throughout the day. Now, you might think “well, that’s ok… I’m still only spending $25 per day and that suits me”. However that may not be the smartest way to look at things.

To get a fix on the performance of a keyword, you need to assess it after your ad has been shown a statistically significant number of times, and the reality is that first time up to bat, the majority of your ads probably won’t perform as well as they could… and many of them won’t attract any clicks at all.

Remember, no click means no cost.

So if you restrict the number of times those ads are shown during the day, all that does is take twice as long to find out which ones are not working.

If your budget is tight and you think can’t afford Google’s recommendation, there’s several things you can do.

First, deactivate distribution on network partner sites during the set-up phase. That way you can use your available budget on the core part of your campaign; Google search.

Secondly, think about using Google’s accelerated delivery option. By default, your campaign is set to deliver ads evenly over time, subject to the budget ratio limitation I’ve just described. But if you choose the accelerated delivery option, Google will show your ads without any restriction until your daily budget limit is reached.

Now, that could work out great, but depending on your other campaign settings it could also mean that you use up all your daily budget between say 12 midnight and 10 o’clock in the morning. If that’s the case, you might have to use accelerated delivery in tandem with ad scheduling.

Ad scheduling lets you control the time of day and which days your ad appears. You can have a campaign can run all day, every day or as little as 15 minutes per week.

You might, for example, set your ads to run only from 8:00 in the morning till 6:00 pm every day or perhaps only Monday to Friday. Google will then spread your budget over the scheduled run time according to the delivery option you’ve chosen; standard or accelerated.

To make sure your scheduling is aligned properly, be aware that you need to set your time zone in the account preferences area of your control panel.

As a final note, remember that daily budgets are set at the campaign level, not the account level, so your overall daily spend will be governed by the total of all your campaign budgets… not just the one you happen to be working on.

Google Adwords is a great way to create an instant rush of traffic to your website. Within ten minutes of setting up a new campaign, you can have ‘ready-to-buy’ visitors coming to your site. The whole Google Adwords system is set up so that your visitors are targeted prospects and your impressions are not wasted on uninterested Internet surfers, if you know what you are doing.

Adwords is also a great testing ground for your marketing system. Within one or two days, you can tell whether your marketing system is working or not by tracking your conversion and sales rates. You can tweak your headline and colors to see which is more effective by running it through Adwords for instant results.

However, it takes some time to master Adwords. If you are a beginner, I suggest setting a low daily budget. Adwords has a steep learning curve, and if you are not careful, you can lose a lot of money. Buy up on the top Adwords guides on the market, and read them. Take notes along the way, and apply the tips in your campaigns. You do not want to take any chances when you are spending money for every click that is made.

Weigh Adwords against your other advertising methods in your promotional campaign and see how it fits in. I do suggest any online marketer use Adwords in some way, but the degree that you use it will depend on your experience and your results with it. Some niches have a lot of competition in Adwords and hence it may not be suitable.

Google AdWords is absolutely one of the best ways to bring targeted traffic to your website. One of the goals of any internet marketer is to generate as much traffic as possible, but not just any traffic; we want targeted traffic. We want traffic that understands that we are selling a product.

Many internet marketing professionals believe that the best forms of advertising include writing articles, joint ventures, using ad swaps, and joining product giveaway programs. Do not get me wrong, these methods all have their place in a marketing campaign and should be used when trying to build a list, but they all have one inherent problem. Much of the traffic that these types of marketing generate is of low quality and consists of people looking for a freebie. Giving away a freebie is a good thing but the bottom line is the bottom line for internet marketers.

While a Google AdWords campaign may not be free like those methods mentioned above, the cost is outweighed by the potential to generate many more paying customers. When a visitor arrives through your AdWords campaigns they are already aware that they have clicked on an advertisement and that the corresponding website will be selling a product. These people are much more likely to buy from you than those leads that are generated through other methods.

You may be using free advertising methods exclusively and they may be successful, but why wouldn’t you want to expand your market? Google AdWords is another method that can be used to bring highly targeted traffic to your site and your product line and can boost your sales.

Many internet professionals seem to be afraid of a pay-per-click campaign and I can understand that. Paying for traffic can be pretty unnerving when first diving in but there is nothing to fear. The cost involved can be managed easily. Google AdWords, unlike some of the other pay-per-click systems, allows you to set a daily spending limit, control when your ads are displayed, and how they are displayed. All of these work for you in keeping costs down.

There are many people who have taken the plunge into pay-per-click advertising and are making a fortune. How do they do it? Honestly it is not as hard as you might think. All you have to do is understand how Google AdWords works and how to make the system work for you.

There are many methods that you might use to build your list. Writing articles, classified ads, joint ventures, and giveaway sites all generate traffic. Some of this traffic may join your list and in time become a valued customer, but if you want to get your product or service in front of millions of potential customers pay-per-click advertising cannot be beaten.

Learn how to make Google AdWords work for you and watch your list of paying customers grow.

When you take your first steps into the world of Google AdWords it is all too easy to grab your list of keywords and dive straight in. However Google allows you much more control over your keywords and when your Ads will appear.

Google allows you to use 4 different types of keywords these are Broad, Phrase, Exact and Negative. It is essential that you use a combination of all these types of keywords to ensure that you get the best results and maximize your ROI.

Throughout example we are going to focus on website selling golf equipment.

Broad Match Keywords

Broad match are the standard keywords used in Google AdWords, if you simply add your keywords to your Ad Group they will be added as broad match. Broad match keywords do not have any symbols around them they are just displayed as the keyword.

If you have the broad keyword Golf, your Ad will be displayed every time the words Golf is searched for, for example Golf Balls, Secondhand Golf Clubs and Golf Tournaments. Essentially if your keyword is searched for your Google Ad will be displayed.

If you used the keyword Golf Tournament your Ad would be displayed every time there was a search that included Golf and Tournament in any order with any other keywords. This is not always a good idea as in some niches many keywords are used for completely different products or even different niches.

Phrase Match Keywords

This is where Google’s phrase match keywords come into play. Phrase match keywords are made up from two or more keywords and are common search terms for your products or services. To set up phrase match keywords in Google AdWords you need to surround your chosen phrase with inverted commas “like this”.

Using the phrase match keyword “Golf Tournaments” would make your Ad appear when the keyword was searched for along with any other search term that included your phrase in addition to any other keywords for example Amateur Golf Tournaments and Golf Tournament Prizes. However if there was a search that included the words Golf and Tournaments separated by other keywords your Ad would not be displayed.

Phrase match keywords allow you to target your Ads more accurately to ensure that the visitors you receive are looking for the exact product you are selling. Phrase match keywords also cost less to bid on compared to broad match keywords, as the keywords are more focused there is less competition for the best places.

Exact Match Keywords

Exact match keywords work similar to phrase match keywords but will only cause your Ad to appear if the exact keywords are searched for. If there are any additional keywords either before or after your keywords your Ad would not be displayed.

To create exact match keywords you add square brackets around your keyword [like this]. Exact match keywords again can reduce your costs even further as there are even fewer people competing for your chosen keywords.

Negative Match Keywords

These are perhaps one of the most overlooked parts of setting up your keywords in google AdWords. Negative keywords are words that when searched for cause your Ad not to be displayed, irregardless of what else was included in the search.

In lots of niches there are keywords that apply to alternative products you don’t supply or even alternative industries. Negative keywords allow you to filter out completely non-relevant clicks on your Ads. Sticking with the Golf theme an example of a unrelated product is the car, the Volkswagen Golf. Yes this may share some of the keywords, but it is not related to your business. To filter these searches out we could add negative keywords for -vw, -volkswagen, -car etc.

You can also use negative keywords to filter out certain searches in your own niche, for example you may not sell secondhand golf equipment, so if that’s the case add a negative keyword for -secondhand or -used.

Tips

When setting up your keywords in Google AdWords I would recommend that you:

Stay away from single word keywords, as they are not targeted enough.

Create as many phrase match keywords as you think of or research. As you find visitors using slightly different keywords add them to your list.

Create an exact match keyword for every phrase match and run them together, using exact match along with phrase match will reduce your costs and the exact match is a perfect match for what was searched.

Create as many negative keywords as you can find, it is best to use a keyword research tool and start with single keywords to find the other niches that use the keywords.

If you follow these tips and get your keywords setup correctly straight of the bat you will sped less time trying to change your Google AdWords because you are getting lots of visitors who are not actually interested in your products or services.

I wish you all the best of success.

Google AdWords is one of the most effective and most popular ways of promoting a product or a website in the internet. It relies mainly on the fact that Google is often used by people who are in search of any kind of information on things or ideas that they may need.

Because it belongs to a top search engine, advertisers or marketers would certainly consider using Google AdWords. However, it is not just because advertising or promoting something here guarantees success; but also because this is actually one of the cheapest.

Nevertheless, it is important that you realize that not all is good about Google AdWords for it has its disadvantages too. As someone who wishes only the best in their advertising efforts, it is definitely imperative that you know what the advantages and disadvantages are.

It is only when you know what the pros and cons of Google AdWords are that you would be able to find out the best ways that it can serve you. Just take note of the following points and you could maximize the positives and overcome the negative sides of this advertising medium.

One advantage of Google AdWords is that it allows you to have control on the rates of your cost-per-click or CPC. This also means that you can actually design and manage ads according to your overall marketing campaign strategy.

In relation to the advantages stated above, you can disable or enable the ads you have posted according to their performance. Of course, this may be done only when you have actually evaluated the performance of the ads.

Another major advantage of Google AdWords is that it has tools such as Google Keyword Tool, which can be used to find out what the keywords would cost every time visitors click it. With such a tool, you can then decide measures in controlling the cost, making it possible for you to scale down your budget.

Customer service is one clear advantage that Google can give you with their AdWords. This makes it easy for you to contact their representatives if you have some issues to present regarding their service.

However, as pointed out in the previous paragraphs, Google AdWords is not absolutely without any weakness. One clear limitation that it sets may actually be a problem if you are promoting sites that deal with the adult market, gambling, and violence, which is actually something Google is trying to minimize in order to maintain a good image.

Once an advertiser is blacklisted from Google AdWords, there is very little possibility that they would be reinstated. It is important not to violate its policies.

Just keep in mind the points mentioned above and you can surely have better income with Google AdWords. Despite the disadvantages, it is still worth using.
